GAAC, a UAE-based company, has embarked on a transformative journey to enhance Kabul Airport's aviation ecosystem in Afghanistan. With a contract to provide security, advanced technological systems, and ground handling services for all international airports in the country, GAAC's efforts have been instrumental in enabling Afghanistan to resume its air operations smoothly. Leveraging the latest industry concepts, GAAC Holding has managed airport facilities and ground handling operations effectively.

Highlights:

  1. GAAC's Impact on Afghanistan's Aviation System: GAAC has left an indelible mark on the development and transformation of Afghanistan's aviation system. With its provision of ground handling, premier services, and aviation security at three international airports—Kabul, Kandahar, and Herat—GAAC has played a pivotal role in modernizing Afghanistan's airports and reinforcing their operational efficiency.

  2. GAAC's Immediate Investment in Kabul Airport: Recognizing the significance of Kabul Airport, GAAC made an urgent investment of $641,000 in airport equipment, facility management, staff catering, and ground support equipment and technologies. This substantial contribution demonstrates the UAE's commitment to Afghanistan's infrastructure development and the welfare of its airport personnel.

  3. Development and Management Agreement: In 2022, GAAC was awarded a contract for the development, operation, and management of air navigation services in Afghanistan. This partnership between the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and GAAC Holding signifies a major milestone in Afghanistan's journey towards a modernized and technologically advanced aviation sector.

  4. Exclusive Ground Handling Privileges: GAAC Holding, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, secured an exclusive license agreement for ground handling services at Kabul, Kandahar, and Herat International Airports. This agreement allows GAAC to provide ground handling services while ensuring reinvestment in Kabul International Airport, Kandahar International Airport, and Herat International Airport.
