UAE: Human rights commission to have over 11 members - News | Khaleej Times

In recent years, the UAE has made significant progress in promoting and protecting human rights. The country has taken several steps to improve labor rights, women's rights, and the rights of migrant workers, among others.

For example, in 2020, the UAE amended its labor laws to provide greater protections for workers, including stronger health and safety regulations and the right to a weekly day off. The country has also taken steps to promote gender equality and empower women, including the appointment of a woman as the UAE's first Minister of State for Happiness and Wellbeing in 2016.

Additionally, the UAE has made efforts to improve the conditions of migrant workers, who make up a significant portion of the country's workforce. In 2017, the UAE introduced a new labor law that provides greater protections for domestic workers, and the country has also taken steps to combat human trafficking and forced labor.
